How many tables do I need for 100 wedding guests?

On 60-inch round tables seating eight, 100 guests need 13 tables, and 14 once you add a spare for late RSVPs and last-minute changes. On 72-inch rounds seating ten, it is 10 tables plus a spare.

On 60-inch rounds seating eight, 150 guests fill 19 tables, so plan 20 with a spare. On 72-inch rounds seating ten, it is 15 tables plus a spare.

Should the sweetheart or head table count toward my total?

Take those guests out before you count guest tables. A sweetheart table seats the two of you, and a head table seats however many people sit at it, so the calculator removes them from the guest count and plans the rest of the room.

Why add a spare table?

It absorbs the late RSVP, the unexpected plus-one and the two guests who cannot sit together after all. Almost every seating plan changes in the final week, and a spare table is cheaper than rebuilding the room.

How much floor space do the tables need?

Allow roughly 10 to 12 square feet per seated guest once the gaps between tables are included. The dance floor, band or DJ, bar and buffet all come out of the same room, so add those separately.
