How many tables 150 wedding guests need at every standard table size, how to split guests evenly, the floor space it takes, and what matters at this size.
For 150 guests on 60-inch round tables seating eight, plan 20 tables: 19 to seat 148 guests plus one spare, with the two of you at a sweetheart table. On 72-inch rounds seating ten it's 16 tables, and on 8-foot rectangles seating eight it's 20. Allow roughly 1,500 to 1,800 square feet for the seating alone, before the dance floor and bar.
These numbers take the two of you out for a sweetheart table and seat the remaining 148 guests. "With a spare" adds one empty table for late changes.
On 60-inch rounds, spread guests as 15 tables of 8 and 4 tables of 7, leaving 4 empty seats across the room rather than one half-empty table. Even tables look fuller and give you room to move a guest at the last minute.
Allow about 10 to 12 square feet per seated guest once the gaps between tables are included, so 1,500 to 1,800 square feet (139 to 167 m²) for 150 guests. The dance floor, the DJ or band, the bar, the cake table and any buffet all come out of the same room, so ask your venue for its seated capacity with those in place, not its standing capacity.
